You can sign up when you arrive at the 331 Club or reserve your spot in advance by filling out our advance sign-up form on this page.
Signing up in advance guarantees your spot and saves you $2.00.

Yes! Reserve your spot by filling out our advance sign-up form.
We keep the next 5 Saturdays available for reservations and update the available Saturdays every week.
Looking for a date that's not listed yet? Just contact us, and we'll make a note of it.
When you reserve, let us know about how many people you're expecting.
If your group size changes, please let us know before your Saturday so we can plan accordingly.

$12 at the door or $10 when you sign up in advance using our form.

Payment is made at the bar when you arrive at the 331 Club. We do not accept advance payments or online payments.
When you arrive, let the bartender know you’re playing. You’ll pay your entry fee, receive your player number, and get your first beer ticket.
If you signed up in advance, just let the bartender know so they can charge you the discounted price.

When you arrive, head to the bar and let the bartender know you’re playing in the Drinkin’ Spelling Bee.
That’s when you’ll pay, receive your speller number, and get your first beer ticket.
We recommend arriving by 6:30 PM so you have plenty of time to check in before the Bee starts at 7:00 PM.

The Drinkin’ Spelling Bee starts at 7:00 PM.
How long the Bee lasts depends on the number of players, but we always wrap up by 9:30 PM so the stage is ready for live music at 10:00 PM.

Yes! Unless otherwise stated, the Drinkin’ Spelling Bee happens every Saturday night.
We only list available Bee dates on the sign-up form, so if a Saturday isn’t listed, it’s not currently scheduled.

If your Saturday isn’t listed on the registration form, it means either there is no Drinkin’ Spelling Bee scheduled for that date or the date is too far in advance.
We only keep the next 5 Saturdays available on the form and update the dates every week. If you’re looking for a future date that isn’t listed yet, feel free to contact us.

You're never required to drink alcohol to play. It's a Drinkin' Spelling Bee, but that drink doesn't have to be alcohol. We get plenty of sober spellers.
Quick note: the ticket you get for spelling a word correctly is only redeemable for a Summit beer, but plenty of other options are available for purchase.

"Hard" is subjective, but round 1 starts off easy and each round gets progressively harder.
Starting in round 2, you can ask for:

If we had a dollar for every time someone said they suck at spelling, we'd retire and do the bee full time.

Nope! One entry fee, one speller, one number.
That still applies even if you head out early or decide you're done for the night.
No passing your number off to someone else.

Nope! The 331 Club is open to 21+ folks, bee or no bee.

Yes! There's a free, small parking lot, plus usually plenty of free street parking available.
The 331 Club lot is fine to leave your car in overnight if needed.
Please plan a sober ride and don't drink and drive!!!

The spelling bee wraps up at 9:30, and bands go on at 10:00 PM.
